About 6x6

The need for simple vinyl storage was first identified by original owner, James Waldron, while living in Brooklyn. When he couldn’t find any suitable options, he designed a fun, simple, quality storage system that could grow with your vinyl record collection. This new modular system could easily move with you, keeping the option of reconfiguration in any space in your home or studio.

The design moved from NY to AZ in 2018 and 6X6 DSGNS, LLC was officially established. Starting out with the ORIGINAL BOXSET design – a modular vinyl record storage system that you can shape however you like - designed to store your vinyl records of all sizes. Made from sustainably sourced Baltic birch and built by human hands and some woodworking droids in the Historic Coronado District of Phoenix, AZ.

In the summer of 2022, 6X6 DSGNS changed ownership and is now in the hands of Lane Redden and Vanessa Melendrez. Best friends, major pop culture fans and long-time avid vinyl collectors, Lane and Vanessa were thrilled at the opportunity to step into this new entrepreneurship role as the new owners of 6X6 DSGNS!

Lane was already part of the 6X6 DSGNS woodworking team before stepping into the ownership role, and now oversees production, operations and customer service. Vanessa joined the team during the ownership transition and supports business, marketing and finance.

In addition to crafting quality furniture for your home or studio space, Lane and Vanessa bring lots of music and art loving energy and strive to develop a supportive community between, music lovers, pop culture fans, self-made artists and like-minded entrepreneurs from their home base of Phoenix, AZ.
